What we collect

When you place an order: your name, email address, phone number, and delivery address. We need these to make and deliver your order.

When you pay: payment is handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, UPI ID, or banking details. Razorpay’s handling of your payment data is governed by Razorpay’s privacy policy.

When you subscribe to our newsletter: your name and email address. We use it only to send you the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.

When you browse: like most websites, our site uses cookies for basic functions such as keeping items in your cart and remembering your session. We also use two analytics tools: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Google Analytics tells us which pages people visit, how they found us, and how long they stay. Microsoft Clarity shows us how pages are used — where people click, how far they scroll — including anonymized recordings of browsing sessions. Text you see or type is masked in these recordings, and neither tool tells us who you are.

We use your information only for the purposes described above — fulfilling orders, communicating with you about them, sending the newsletter if you subscribed, and improving the site. That is the full list. We do not sell your information and we do not share it with anyone for marketing.

Who we share it with

We share information with only the partners needed to fulfil your order:

  1. Production and shipping partners, who receive your name, address, and phone number to print, pack, and deliver your order
  2. Razorpay, which processes your payment
  3. Our email service provider, which stores newsletter subscriber addresses
  4. Google (Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity), which process anonymised browsing data on our behalf

Each of these uses your information only to provide their service.

We will disclose information if required by law or a valid government request.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your query.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what information we hold about you
  • Correct it if it is wrong
  • Delete it, where the law allows us to

Write to hello@hisalu.co and we will respond within a reasonable time. We handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll note it here.
